Meet Our Doctors
Four naturopathic physicians. One shared belief that your family deserves better.
Every doctor at Natural Pediatrix chose this work on purpose. We are not here to rush you through a 10-minute visit and hand you a prescription. We are here to know your child, listen to you as a parent, and build care that actually fits your family.

Our team is trained in both conventional and natural medicine. We run labs, we can prescribe when something genuinely calls for it, and we refer out when needed. But our first move is always to understand the whole picture before reaching for a solution.

Dr. Heather Dirkmaat, ND
Managing Physician and Owner
— Queen Creek and Scottsdale
Dr. Dirkmaat founded Natural Pediatrix because she kept seeing families turned away from conventional practices for their vaccine choices. She believed every family deserved a real medical home, regardless of where they landed on that conversation. So she built one.

Dr. Dirkmaat received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from Sonoran University of Health Sciences. She holds a Master of Biomedical Sciences from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master of Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University, where she researched genetically modified organisms. Her undergraduate research at the University of Colorado-Denver earned three academic awards for her work examining atherosclerosis development in pre-menopausal women. She continues to serve as adjunct faculty in the Research Department at Sonoran University of Health Sciences.

The research background is not just impressive on paper. It means Dr. Dirkmaat reads the studies, integrates the evidence, and makes recommendations grounded in real science. Her approach blends Western and Eastern medicine to find the best outcome for each individual patient.

“I keep up with research and integrate it into my care. I have worked with some of the top doctors in my industry and make recommendations that will be best for the child. My methods are safe and effective. The blend of medicine I practice is an eclectic one. I use both Western and Eastern medicine to formulate the best outcome for the patients. My medicine serves a spectrum that accommodates both natural and conventional mindsets. I provide safe, knowledgeable, quality care to the community.” — Dr. Dirkmaat
Dr. Michelle Kirk, ND
Family Physician — Queen Creek
Dr. Kirk provides comprehensive naturopathic care for patients of all ages. Her focus areas include family medicine, women's health, men's health, hormonal balance, gastrointestinal health, and fatigue. She has a particular passion for working with children and adolescents, especially those navigating complex conditions like PANS and PANDAS.

Dr. Kirk received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from Sonoran University of Health Sciences. Her approach is rooted in identifying the underlying cause of illness and supporting the body's own ability to heal, with individualized plans that blend naturopathic and conventional medicine.

Dr. Amanda Garcia, ND
Family Physician — Queen Creek
Dr. Garcia came to naturopathic medicine by way of a path as interesting as she is. Originally from the Lower East Side of Manhattan, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, then spent time teaching high school math in New Orleans before discovering naturopathic medicine and realizing it aligned with everything she believed about how healthcare should work.

She earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Ontario, and completed her residency in primary care in Vermont before landing in Arizona. Her favorite modalities are homeopathy, acupuncture, and botanical medicine. She brings a depth of curiosity and a willingness to do the work alongside her patients that is immediately felt in every appointment.
